This drought tolerant plant with sword shaped leaves is insensitive to environmental extremes of heat, light and humidity. Water evenly and allow to dry out between waterings. These desert plants have evolved to conserve water. Too much water will show as brown tips. Too little water will show as oldest foliage turning crispy brown. Brown tips will also appear when the plant is pot bound.

Fertilize plants in high light two or three times per year if foliage looks pale. Be very careful when working around Yuccas. The tips can puncture your eye and cause painful injuries. The rough edges of the leaves can also cause lacerations of the skin.

Scale and occasionally mealybugs. Yuccas are also prone to a powdery blight that infects the new growth. Treat all of these with repeated sprays of Brand X.
